Vishvas News found the claim to be false. The video is actually a scene from a movie. Details of the viral post: The caption accompanying the viral video attempts to make a political point using the video with a false claim. It reads, “France has elected a secular liberal Emmanuel Macron as President, leaving a staunch nationalist woman, see the result.” An archived version of this post can be seen here: Investigation: Vishvas News conducted a Google reverse image search of keyframes from the video. We found the full version of this video in a 2017 tweet by Hollywood producer Justin King. The tweet said that it is a scene from the shooting of the movie ‘Fast and Furious 8’ in Cleveland. Justin King’s tweet can be seen here. We also found a longer version of this clip uploaded on the verified Facebook page of prominent US news outlet ABC News in 2016. The accompanying text stated: “Cars fall from buildings and explode in the street as stunts from the filming of the new ‘Fast & Furious’ movie were captured from across the street.” We further found this clip in a video uploaded on a verified YouTube channel named Movieclips, run by the public review website Rotten Tomaotoes. The same visuals can be seen here shot from a different angle. Actress Charlize Theron can also be seen in character in this clip. Vishvas News also reached out to Jagran’s senior entertainment journalist Smita Srivastav for confirmation, who verified that the video is indeed from the movie ‘Fast and Furious 8’, which was released in 2017. Meanwhile, the riot-like situation is persistent in France after a teenager was shot dead in a police shooting in a Paris suburb on June 27. More details about the current situation in France can be read in this story. This viral post with the false claim was shared by a user named ‘Amatya Rakshas’, who has almost 5,000 friends on Facebook. Conclusion: After a thorough investigation, Vishvas News found that the video of cars falling from a building is not related to the France violence, but is from a movie. - Claim Review : video of violance in France - Claimed By : Facebook User - Fact Check : False Know the truth!
