Colombia will isolate travelers arriving from China, Spain, France and Italy in an attempt to curb the spread of the new coronavirus in the South American country, President Ivan Duque said Wednesday. "Given the implications of the quarantine by China, Italy, Spain and France, the national government is adopting the preventive isolation of people coming from those countries to protect the collective health," he said on Twitter. Colombia has three confirmed cases of the coronavirus infection, with its first infection detected in a 19-year-old woman who arrived in Bogota Friday from Milan. Two more cases were confirmed on Monday -- one in a 34-year-old man and another in a 50-year-old woman, both of whom had been in Spain. Authorities activated migratory controls after the first confirmed infection. Duque said Health Minister Fernando Ruiz would detail the latest measures at a news conference later in the day. raa/jm
