A mafia boss living in Brazil was arrested after returning home to spend Easter with his family in Sicily, Italian police and media said on Tuesday. Giuseppe Calvaruso, who is accused of being the boss of the powerful Pagliarelli clan, was stopped at Palermo airport while waiting to collect his luggage on Sunday, police said. The 43-year-old was arrested in an operation that also picked up four others, including his alleged right-hand man, Giovanni Caruso.
