  • With new tolls and key developments, here is the latest in the coronavirus crisis. Across the world, 3,127 people have died from the new virus. More than 92,000 have been infected in 77 countries and territories, according to AFP's latest toll based on official sources at 1100 GMT Tuesday. The main countries affected: mainland China (80,151 cases, 2,943 deaths), South Korea (5,186 cases, 28 deaths) Iran, (2,336 cases, 77 deaths), Italy (2,036 cases, 52 deaths), Japan (268 cases and 12 deaths). Taiwanese tech giant and Apple iPhone assembler Foxconn says its Chinese factories are operating at 50 percent of seasonal capacity due to the outbreak. In Italy the Milan stock exchange rebounds on Tuesday morning after falling during several sessions. In France the world tourism trade fair in Paris, which had expected 100,000 people from March 12-15 is called off. The International Olympic Committee says it is preparing for a "successful" Summer Games in Tokyo in less than five months. US media reports the National Basketball Association has sent a memo to teams recommending that players interacting with fans should bump fists rather than high-five. In Germany, the football team RB Leipzig apologises after forcing a group of Japanese spectators to leave their arena during the weekend's match with Bayer Leverkusen over coronavirus fears. Negotiators from the European Union and Britain, meeting on Tuesday for a second day of talks on post-Brexit relations, agree not to shake hands.
