| - Six Philadelphia Flyers regulars who have missed the past 10 days in Covid-19 protocols will not skate for Philadelphia against Boston in Sunday's NHL Outdoors game at Lake Tahoe. Flyers coach Alain Vigneault said Thursday that defenseman Justin Braun and forwards Claude Giroux, Travis Konecny, Jakub Voracek, Oskar Lindblom and Scott Laughton will not play in the special contest. "No one on that list is coming," he said. The Flyers returned to competition Thursday after having not played since February 7 due to Covid-19 issues, losing two games against New Jersey and another against the New York Rangers. The Flyers had only 16 players for a Tuesday practice before calling upon their taxi squad for a workout. Three players could go into the outdoor contest after only one game this season. The NHL booked two outdoor games this weekend on a rink set up at a golf course on the shore of Lake Tahoe, opening Saturday with the Vegas Golden Knights facing the Colorado Avalanche. The Knights were expecting to play without goaltender Robin Lehner, but not due to virus issues. He has missed five games with an upper-body injury since a 4-3 win over Los Angeles on February 7. "I don't anticipate him traveling," Golden Knights coach Peter DeBoer said Thursday. Lehner is 3-1-1 with a 2.96 goals-against average and .890 save percentage in five games this season after signing a five-year deal worth $25 million last October. Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury, a three-time Stanley Cup champion with Pittsburgh and 2010 Olympic champion with Canada, is expected to make his sixth straight start against Colorado. Fleury lost two prior outdoor games in 2011 and 2014 while with the Penguins. "Really looking forward to it," Fleury said. "Those games are always fun. ... I think it's the best hockey to play. Growing up, I always loved to play outside. ... Been in a few outdoor games and always a good time." Fleury is 7-2-0 with two shutouts and ranks second in the NHL with a 1.56 goals-against average. js/rcw
