India Today Fact Check
This viral video was doctored. The original video is from October 2017 and predicted 39-45 seats for the BJP and 22-28 seats for the Congress in the assembly elections that year.
In less than 24 hours, the people of Himachal Pradesh will cast their votes for the assembly elections. The incumbent Bhartiya Janta Party, Congress, and the new entrant Aam Aadmi Party have left no stone unturned during their campaigns in the state.
Meanwhile, a video of an opinion poll from ABP News has been shared by many social media users - including Congress leader Alka Lamba. The clip purportedly shows an opinion poll from Himachal Pradesh, predicting a clear majority for the Congress party with 39-45 seats in its kitty. On the other hand, the BJP's projected seat share can be seen falling between 22-28 seats.
Lamba shared this 22-second-long video on November 10, expressing her gratitude to the people of the state. An archived version of this tweet can be seen here.

AFWA PROBE
We first searched for what exactly the ABP News opinion poll predicted for the 2022 Himachal Pradesh assembly polls. We found that ABP News and C-Voter hinted at a hung assembly with both BJP and Congress winning an equal share.
The Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly has a total of 68 seats. A party needs to cross the 35-seat mark to form a government in the state. The survey predicted the BJP's seat share between 31-39 and 29-37 for Congress. Notably, the report, based on this opinion poll, was published by the ABP group on November 9, a day before Lamba tweeted this video.
TRUTH BEHIND THE VIRAL VIDEO
We took some screengrabs from the viral video and ran a reverse search on Google. This led us to a clip uploaded to ABP Live's YouTube channel on October 31, 2017. When we compared the frames of the viral video with the original, it became clear that a five-year-old clip was shared as a recent one.
Moreover, the predicted figures shown in the viral video for the Congress party were not the same. The original video projected 39-45 seats for the BJP and 22-28 seats for the Congress, making it evident that the viral video was doctored.
Therefore, it is safe to conclude that a five-year-old opinion poll video was doctored to spread lies ahead of the Himachal Pradesh assembly elections.
