| - In May 2024, an image circulated on social media that allegedly showed an official teaser poster for the movie "The Batman Part II." The poster included the words "Nothing to Fear" and the year 2026.
"I respect this Batman series because they don't use the same generic villains this series they actually explore and use all of batmans villains," one X user wrote in the comments section, to which another responded, "Best to forget this franchise exists until 2026. You're just making yourself antsy thinking about how you gotta wait 2 years for this." As of this writing, the image had more than 2.8 million views and 76,000 likes.

"This could be a real poster," another user wrote in response to the image, suggesting that the teaser poster was not an official piece of artwork from Warner Bros. Pictures, but rather an image created by a fan. "This is awesome, but I hate you for the 3,000,000 femto-seconds that I thought it was real," another user chimed in.
We found that the artwork was shared by the dudes_flix account on Instagram, and Movie.Takes on X, where the account-holder wrote, "The Batman Part II - Teaser Poster is INSANE🥶."
The image was fake. The person who runs the account PhaseRunner created it and originally posted it in May 2024. A reply post from PhaseRunner read, "You can watch how I made this 'The Batman' fan poster here:"
That link takes followers to PhaseRunner's YouTube channel and a video titled, "I Make Teaser Posters for Upcoming BLOCKBUSTER Movies!" This video, which had 111,000 views as of this writing, demonstrates the illustration and design program used to create the fake movie poster for "The Batman Part II."
In addition, the official DC website, the Warner Bros. Motion Picture website and the IMDb page for "The Batman Part II" do not display this version of the movie teaser poster, although IMDb does share artwork unrelated to what PhaseRunner posted to X:
(IMDb)
The film's director, Matt Reeves, who also helmed 2022's "The Batman," has not shared the in-question movie poster on Instagram or X. No reputable news outlet shared this version of the artwork.
Because the image does not show an official movie poster for "The Batman Part II," we have rated this claim as "Fake."
A hub page from film and TV news outlet Screen Rant reveals "The Batman Part II" release date will be Oct. 2, 2026 — a 12-month delay from its originally scheduled release date in 2025 — and claims the comic book-inspired film will be a prequel to "The Batman."
British actor Robert Pattinson will reprise his titular dual role of the DC superhero and his counterpart, Bruce Wayne, and motion-capture actor Andy Serkis will return as Alfred Pennyworth. IMDb is keeping the movie's plot "under wraps" for now, although the platform reports that the film is presently in production.
