| - A video of actor Aamir Khan speaking at a public forum is being linked to the ongoing controversy with the online YouTube show India's Got Latent, hosted by comedian Samay Raina.
What did Khan say?: "I personally have a problem with what they have done and therefore I have not seen the show. Commenting on someone's skin colour or sexuality and turning it into a joke-if you expect me to laugh along, I won't."
Those sharing have claimed that Khan spoke against the show.
What we found: At first, we ran a relevant keyword search using the words said by Khan in the viral video and came across the vdeo from 2015.
As per Movie Talkies's YouTube channel, a reporter asked Khan whether those who hosted and attended the comedy show (AIB's Knockout), in pursuance of freedom of speech, acted responsibly or irresponsibly.
It was dated 11 February 2015. The portion in the viral video can be heard from 2:29 onwards.
Similarly, the Hindustan Times reported on this incident in 2015, where it mentioned that it was "freedom of speech" but violent in nature. The senior actor also mentioned that it has passed the age where abusive language would impress him.
There are no recent reports or official statements which state Khan's stance on the controversy related to Raina and his show.
Some context: Following YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia's alleged obscene remarks on Raina's show, a massive row erupted, with the Mumbai police probing the entire show.
Raina has been called from the United States of America (as he is currently touring) to record his statement. Recently, Allahbadia and YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani appeared before the Maharashtra Cyber Cell and recorded their statements concerning the case.
Conclusion: An old video from 2015 went viral to falsely allege that Khan spoke against the online show India's Got Latent.
