Fact :The video is edited. Her speech has been edited which indicates it is a false statement
YSRCP MLA Roja Selvamani vehemently vouches for power to her party and is also known for her aggressive speeches against the Opposition. Yet there have been rumours that she might not get an MLA ticket for the upcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh.
In this context, a 15-second video is going viral on social media with the claim that the disgruntled MLA is speaking against the AP CM and predicting that he is not going to become CM in the next elections.
The video is shared with the caption in Telugu: “ఎమ్మెల్యే టికెట్ ఇవ్వకపోతే రోజా ఆంటీ చూస్తూ ఊరుకుంటుందా అది అట్టా”
When translated, it claims: “If she does not get an MLA ticket, Roja will not keep quiet”
In the video, we can see the Nagari MLA saying: “జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి ముఖ్యమంత్రి కాడు. ఇది నా శాసనం.”
In English, it reads: “Jaganmohan Reddy will not become MLA. I swear.”
Fact Check:
The claim is False. The video is edited.
When we searched the extracted key frames using Google reverse image search, we found a longer version of the same speech which was published on the Sakshi TV live YouTube channel with the title “Minister RK Roja Powerful Speech | Janasena Pawan Kalyan | Chandrababu @SakshiTVLIVE”. This video was published on October 16, 2023. In the video we can hear her say that Pawan Kalyan claimed that Jaganmohan Reddy is not going to become Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, but people ensured that Pawan was not allowed to enter the State assembly. The viral video is extracted for a duration of 1.25 minutes from the original video.
When we searched more about her speech using the dates, we found Sakshi, Krishna district edition e-paper which published an article with the title “వైస్సార్ సీపిని ఇంటీకి అన్న బాబు జైలుకు..” where the image used has the same background. According to this article, MLA Roja gave the speech at Bantumilli in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh and she also discussed Pawan Kalyan’s comments on YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
Therefore, Nagari MLA Roja has not commented that AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy is not going to become CM because she may not get an MLA ticket. The old video has been edited and shared. The claim is False.
