  • FACT CHECK: Image Of Fireworks In La Rosada Predates Trump’s 2024 Election Victory A video shared on X purports to show fireworks in La Rosada in celebration of Donald Trump’s 2024 election victory. FIREWORKS IN LA ROSADA DUE TO TRUMP’S VICTORY pic.twitter.com/03KkLIpUuc — ChoosyBluesy (@ChoosyBluesy) November 6, 2024 Verdict: Misleading The claim is misleading. The video, which was originally posted on YouTube in 2019, shows fireworks in La Rosada in celebration of former Argentine President Alberto Fernandez’s election victory the same year. Fact Check: Trump won 12 of the 14 Texas counties along the U.S.-Mexico border during the 2024 presidential election, according to The New York Times. Trump only carried five of these same counties when he was previously elected in 2016, the outlet reported. The X video, viewed over 200 times as of writing, purports to show fireworks in La Rosada in celebration of Trump’s 2024 election victory. “FIREWORKS IN LA ROSADA DUE TO TRUMP’S VICTORY,” the video’s caption reads. The video features a blurry view of the fireworks in La Rosada. The claim is misleading. While the video does show fireworks in La Rosada, the fireworks are not in a celebration of Trump’s 2024 election victory. The video, which originated on YouTube in 2019, shows fireworks in celebration of Fernandez’s election victory the same year. “Fireworks 10/12/19 Casa Rosada Asuncion Alberto Fernandez and Cristina Fernandez,” a translation of the video’s title reads. Likewise, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to support the claim. Actually, the opposite is true. On Nov. 8, Misbar debunked the claim, citing the 2019 YouTube video indicating the fireworks recognized Fernandez’s election victory. In addition, Trump does not appear to have publicly commented on the claim via his official website, his TRUTH Social account, or his verified social media accounts. (RELATED: Did Votes Cast For Jill Stein Prevent Kamala Harris From Winning Virginia?) Trump claimed victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in the November 2024 election, winning multiple battleground states, including Pennsylvania, according to Fox News. Trump’s win makes him the second president to serve two nonconsecutive terms since Grover Cleveland, the outlet reported.
