  • Fact Check: UAE, not UP! Dubai clip viral as Noida's development India Today found that the second video clip used in the viral video is from Dubai. Listen to Story India Today Fact Check The second clip in the viral video is from Dubai, not Noida in Uttar Pradesh. A video that’s been widely shared on social media purports to show how Noida in Uttar Pradesh has developed in the last decade. It shows two aerial shots of a city, one allegedly from 2015 and the other from 2024. Its archive can be seen here. India Today Fact Check found that while the first shot shows Noida, the second video clip is actually from Dubai. OUR PROBE The first clip, allegedly shot in 2015, shows a highway junction. We compared it to similar areas in Noida on Google Maps and found the exact location: the Noida-Greater Noida Link Road. Several features visible in the video are there in the satellite image. A comparison of the Google Maps satellite image and a screenshot from the viral video clip can be seen below: We reverse-searched grabs from the second clip in the viral video. We discovered that similar visuals have been shared as sights from Dubai in various posts. Although these posts did not specify which part of Dubai they showed, we observed a distinctive building roof in the video, with a metro line passing underneath. We looked at various Dubai metro station buildings and found one that appeared very similar to the viral video. We geolocated the metro station shown in the viral video as the Mashreq Metro Station on Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai. We confirmed the location through street view and by examining nearby places and constructions. A comparison of screenshots from the viral video and Google Maps can be seen below: Thus, it is clear that the video doesn’t show Noida’s development in the last decade as one video is not from India at all!
