  • FACT CHECK: Did JAG Corps Investigators Interview Chad Wolf? A post shared on Facebook purports Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps investigators interviewed former acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf regarding the “Twitter Files.” Verdict: False The claim stems from a satirical website. A Navy JAG spokesperson denied the claim. Fact Check: Wolf became acting Secretary of Homeland Security for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in November 2019 under then-President Donald Trump’s administration, according to The Hill. The former secretary was interviewed by the House Select Committee in July 2022 as part of their investigation into the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, CNN reported. The Facebook post purports JAG investigators interviewed Wolf in response to the release of the “Twitter Files.” The post further claims JAG investigators arrived at Wolf’s Virginia home after Adm. Darse E. Crandall contacted Trump about the matter and the former president supposedly gave his “blessing” to proceed with the interview. The claim is false. There are no credible news reports suggesting JAG investigators interviewed Wolf in response to the release of the “Twitter Files.” Likewise, the claim is neither mentioned on the DHS website nor on its verified social media accounts. Wolf also has not publicly commented on the purported claim. A keyword search reveals the claim stems from a Dec. 10 article published by the website, “Real Raw News.” A disclaimer included on the site’s “About Us” page indicates it contains “humor, parody, and satire.” (RELATED: Does The Department Of Homeland Security Have A Training Course To Prepare To Quarantine Unvaccinated Americans?) “This is not true,” Navy JAG spokesperson Devin Arneson said of the purported claim in an email to Check Your Fact. Check Your Fact has also contacted DHS and Trump spokespersons for comment and will update this piece accordingly if one is received.
