  • Fact Check: Deepfake at Mahakumbh. 'Beautiful Sadhvi' Harsha Richhariya DID NOT kiss a policeman India Today found that this is an AI-generated video. Harsha Richhariya shared the original video on January 19, which was manipulated using AI. Listen to Story Many people attending the Mahakumbh in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj captured the internet’s attention. One of them was Harsha Richhariya, an influencer dubbed the “Beautiful Sadhvi” by social media. A video now going viral shows Richhariya stepping out of a car, posing for a photo with a police officer, and then kissing him. India Today Fact Check found that this is an AI-generated video. Harsha Richhariya posted the original video on her official Instagram account on January 19. That video was manipulated with the help of AI to create the viral clip. Our Probe Upon closely examining the viral video, we noticed Richhariya’s hand suddenly shrinking to an unusually small size. This hinted at the video being created or manipulated using AI. A reverse image search of the video’s keyframes led us to an Instagram post from January 15 featuring the same clip. This video, however, was watermarked “PixVerse.ai”, suggesting that the video may have been altered using this tool. PixVerse.ai, an AI tool, primarily offers services such as image and image-to-video generation, editing, and enhancement through advanced AI algorithms. Notably, the website's homepage features a demo that showcases how to create a kissing video from a still image of two people using a specific prompt. This further supports the likelihood that the viral video was a deepfake. We also found the original video on Richhariya’s Instagram account, shared on January 19 with the caption "#mahakumbh2025." This video is largely the same except there was no kiss. Thus, it’s evident that the viral video is a deepfake. (Written By Surajuddin Mondal)
