  • FACT CHECK: Does This Video Show Babies Grown In A Lab? A video shared on Facebook purportedly shows babies being artificially grown in pods within a lab. Verdict: Misleading The video is a digital animation. The creator of the video confirmed the video is not real and simply a concept. Fact Check: A Northfield, New Hampshire, child care worker has been sentenced to prison after stealing medications of those under their care and replacing them with substances colored with pens, according to The Associated Press. Birth Rates in the U.S. have dropped, attributed to women waiting to have children at later ages, CBS News reported. A Facebook video allegedly shows an “artificial womb facility” showing several babies contained in pods. The video features a narrator introducing the facility. This video has been taken out of context, however. Originally titled “EctoLife: The World’s First Artificial Womb Facility,” it stems originally from YouTube and was created by Hashem Al-Ghaili, who describes himself on his website as “a producer, filmmaker and a science communicator.” “It’s not a real-life facility. It’s just a concept,” Al-Ghaili confirmed to Check Your Fact in an email. (RELATED: Does This Photo Show A Woman Stealing A Baby From A U.S. Hospital?) Check Your Fact found no credible news reports about “EctoLife” being real at this time. However, research regarding lab-grown “human milk” has intensified, with estimates suggesting it would be three years until the product is ready for consumption, according to CNN. This is not the first time a miscaptioned video has gone viral. Check Your Fact recently debunked a video claiming to depict Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy calling President Joe Biden a “butthole” while presenting an award.
