Vishvas News in its investigation found that the country has paused its vax programme due to vaccine coverage in the Danish population. It did not stop the vaccination programme. Claim: Vishvas News came across a post on Twitter by Melinda Richards @goodfoodgal, who wrote: Denmark has stopped their entire COViD vaccination program. Check the post and its archive version here. Other Twitter users too had shared the same claim. Investigation: Vishvas News started it’s investigation with the keyword search. We came across a news report from CNBC, titled: Denmark becomes the first country to halt its Covid vaccination program It was clearly mentioned that the programme has been halted and not stopped. The article also said: Far from scrapping its vaccination program altogether, however, the Danish Health and Medicines Authority said there will probably be a need to vaccinate against Covid-19 again in the fall. Read it here. On digging a little more, Vishvas News found a link of the vaccination program itself. The website said: The general covid-vaccination program in Denmark has been paused for the time being. It is still possible to get vaccinated. Read it here. Vishvas News in the last step of investigation reached out to Danish journalists on Twitter, who directed us to the official Twitter handle of vaccination programme. Vishvas News got a reply from the official handle that the vaccination programme has been halted and not stopped. In the last step of investigation, Vishvas News did a social background check of the Twitter user, Melinda Richards. She has 31.4K followers on Twitter and she joined in 2015. Conclusion: Viral posts stating the vaccination programme in Denmark has been stopped is misleading.
