  • Fact Check: Visuals of a decorated train are relating to a pilgrimage from Hyderabad to Karnataka but not of recent train launch to West Bengal A video showing the front of a train decorated with a design of green colored Mosque dome and golden coloured birds is spread virally with the claim that it is decoration on a train travelling from Hyderabad to West Bengal. Claim :Visuals show a decorated train leaving from Hyderabad to West Bengal Fact :Visuals are from an old video showing a decorated train leaving from Hyderabad in Telangana to Halkatta Shareef in Gulbarga, Karnataka Old visuals of a train leaving from Hyderabad in Telangana to Halkatta Shareef in Gulbarga, Karnataka are shared with misleading claims The video is shared with a claim in Telugu language that goes: “ఎంత మందికి వీలైతే అంతమందికి షేర్ చేయండి. ఇదిగో బాగా చూడండి ఇది ఏ బంగ్లాదేశ్ రైల్వే అనుకునేరు అలా అనుకుంటే మీరు పొరబడినట్టే. ఇది మన #హిందూస్థాన్రైల్వే. #హైదరా When translated, it claims: “Please share with as many people as you can. If you think this is Bangladesh Railways then you are wrong. This is our #Hindustan Railway. This is the train going from #Hyderabad to West Bengal. #Today_is_August 3rd . We are not clear about which country we are in. O #Secular_Hindus.” The claim is also shared with a claim in Hindi “असदुद्दीन ओवैसी साहब चले मो When translated, it claims that Asaduddin Owaisi Sahab went to meet Momta. From Hyderabad in Telangana to West Bengal train” Fact Check: The claim is misleading. The train in the viral video shows a train travelling from Hyderabad to Halkatta Shareef in Karnataka. When we performed a reverse image search using the key frames extracted from the video, we found a few videos posted over the years from 2017. A YouTube video titled May 22, 2018, was posted on a channel named Noorjahan Naaz. Another video published by a channel named Badshh-E-Deccan with the title “Hlakatta Sharif sandal on train 2018” was also found. The video was published in September 2018. Another video published by a channel named SaleemZone Official dates back to October 6, 2017. The title of the video is Halkatta Shareef Sandal and Dargah's new video 2017 Oct 4th. In 2022, the South Central Railway announced special trains from Hyderabad to Wadi to clear the rush of pilgrims on the occasion of the 45th Anniversary Celebrations of Urs – e – Shareef of Great Saint Hazrath Khwaja Syed Mohammed Badesh Quadri Chisthy Yamani on 12th& 14th August 2022. Every year, the pilgrims take sandals by train. These trains have special decorations every year. 2018: 2019: Hence, the viral video does not show the decoration on the recent train from Hyderabad to West Bengal. It is a special pilgrim train from Hyderabad to Halkatta Shareef in Karnataka. The claim is Misleading.
