New Delhi (Vishvas News). On February 19, 2025, Rekha Gupta was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Delhi. Now, a video has gone viral, featuring a woman performing impressive sword-wielding skills. The video has been circulating with the claim that this is the new CM of Delhi.
Vishvas News found in its investigation that the viral claim is false. The woman seen in this video is not Rekha Gupta, but actress Payal Jadhav.
What is going viral?
Facebook user ‘Jaswant Raj Mehta’ shared the viral video on 20 February 2025 and wrote in the caption “Old video of RSS worker Rekha Gupta, now Delhi CM.”

Investigation
To verify the truth behind the viral claim, we extracted the key frames of the video and searched them with the help of Google reverse image. We found this video uploaded on the Instagram account of Marathi actress Payal Jadhav on 19 February 2025.
In her post, Payal Jadhav shared the clip with a message dedicating it to Shivaji Maharaj. She also took the opportunity to tag the people who assisted in creating the video, acknowledging their contribution to its production.
Payal Jadhav is an actress who made her debut in Marathi cinema in 2023 with the film “Baapalyok”.
We reached out to Payal Jadhav via email, and she responded with the following message: “I am Payal Jadhav. I received an overwhelming response to the yuddhakala video I presented on the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Jayanti. For that, I am deeply grateful. Your support has given me the energy to continue working. Recently, it has come to my attention that this video is being circulated on social media with a mention that it is of the Honorable Chief Minister, Mrs. Rekha Gupta. This information is incorrect. I would like to appeal to everyone not to spread misinformation. Thank you.”
Finally, we scanned the account of the user Jaswant Raj Mehta who shared the video with the false claim. We found that the user has around 4000 Facebook Friends.
Conclusion: Vishvas News found in its investigation that the woman showing sword-wielding skills in this video is not Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, but actress Payal Jadhav.
