  • FACT CHECK: Did Nancy Pelosi Publish An X Post Calling For Brilyn Hollyhand To Be Arrested? A screenshot of a purported X post shared on Instagram claims Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi said Brilyn Hollyhand should be arrested. View this post on Instagram Verdict: False The claim is false. Pelosi’s spokesperson denied the claim’s validity in an email to Check Your Fact. Fact Check: Code Pink, an anti-war advocacy group, recently protested outside Pelosi’s house to call for a cease-fire in the current Israel-Hamas conflict, according to The Hill. The group said Pelosi’s support of a cease-fire is “crucial,” the outlet reported. The screenshot of the purported X post shared on Instagram claims Pelosi said Hollyhand should be arrested. “@BrilynHollyhand has called for me to be arrested for orchestrating January 6. Brilyn should be arrested for spreading fake news. Do not follow or support him,” the text of the purported post reads. The claim is false, however. An advanced search does not reveal the purported remark on Pelosi’s verified X account. In addition, the purported remark is neither referenced on her website nor on her verified Facebook and Instagram accounts. Check Your Fact also did not find any credible news reports suggesting she made the purported remark. (RELATED: Did Nancy Pelosi Confess To Criminal Activity In Congressional Hearing?) Furthermore, Hollyhand, the 17-year-old Co-Chair of the Republican National Committee’s Youth Advisory Council, has not publicly commented on the claim. Pelosi’s spokesperson, Aaron Bennett, denied the claim’s validity in an email to Check Your Fact. “Absolute hogwash,” Bennett said of the claim. “This message was never tweeted from the Speaker’s account,” he added. The claim appears to be circulating in response to House Speaker Mike Johnson’s decision to release footage from the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Although Check Your Fact did not find any X posts from Hollyhand calling for Pelosi’s arrest, he did re-share a post from Johnson on Nov. 17 that included a link to the Jan. 6 tapes.
