Fact
The glossy texture and blurred background in the purported image of Ghoshal featured in the post indicated that the media might have been generated using AI tools.
We looked up the image on AI detection platforms which further confirmed that the photo was actually generated using AI. Hive Moderation, for instance, found a 99.7% probability that image contained AI-generated or deepfake content. Another platform wasitai.com also concluded, “We are quite confident that this image, or significant part of it, was created by AI.”
On inspecting the link mentioned in the viral post, we were directed to a webpage displaying an alleged report by The Indian Express, titled ‘Fans advocate for Shreya Ghoshal’s release after controversial interview.’
Notably, the link to the actual website of The Indian Express is “https://indianexpress.com.” However, the URL of the page displaying the alleged report was “https://pixajotexu.org,” confirming that it is fake, and does not show an actual article by the news outlet.
We followed multiple hyperlinks on the webpage all of which led us to the same page titled “Welcome to Immediate +24 iQuix.”
We looked up the link “pixajotexu.org” on Scam Detector which rated it “suspicious, young, and untrustworthy,” and concluded a low score of 5.4 points.
The fabricated article further claims that Ghoshal “revealed” about the “Immediate +24 iQuix investment platform” during an interview with actress Kareena Kapoor Khan on a Mirchi Plus show.
We skimmed through the entire interview featured on the official YouTube channel of Mirchi Plus, however, did not find any such conversation.
