| - Fact Check: Congress Leader Himani Narwal’s Murder Case Goes Viral With False Claim
Police have arrested Himani’s friend Sachin on charges of her murder. There is no communal angle to the case.

New Delhi (Vishvas News). A communal post is going viral on social media regarding the murder of Haryana Congress leader Himani Narwal—claiming that she was killed by a Muslim party member. The post includes two pictures— one of Himani and another of a suitcase.
Vishvas News investigated the claim and found it to be fake. The police have arrested a man named ‘Sachin’ on charges of Himani’s murder. The viral post is misleading and is being shared with a false communal claim.

Facebook user ‘Nishant Joshi’ posted the pictures (archive link) on March 3, 2025 with the caption,
“23 year old Himani Narwal was a Congress worker from Haryana, packed in a suitcase by some Congressman Abdul!!”
Investigation
To verify the viral claim, we conducted a reverse image search using Google Lens. We found that the first photo is indeed of Himani, while the second one is said to be related to the murder, as reported by Satya Hindi.
Next, we reviewed the March 4, 2025 edition of Dainik Jagran’s Rohtak division, which reported on Himani’s murder. According to the report, ‘Himani had walked holding Rahul Gandhi’s hand during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which brought her into the news. The police have arrested not a Congress worker but her friend Sachin in connection with her murder. Rohtak police apprehended Sachin, a resident of Khairpur village in Jhajjar district, from Mundka in Delhi. According to the police, Himani was killed in a quarrel over money transactions. Sachin has been remanded to police custody for three days. CCTV footage captured Sachin carrying a suitcase on the street.
According to the news published on Amar Ujala’s website on March 3, 2025 the police have found Himani’s mobile and her jewellery from Sachin. The accused was in a relationship with Himani for a long time. Both of them met through social media. Let us tell you that Himani’s body was found in a suitcase on March 1 at the bus stand of Sampla in Rohtak.
For further verification, we contacted OP Vashisht, Dainik Jagran’s correspondent in Rohtak, who confirmed that the name of the accused arrested in the Himani murder case is Sachin and there is no communal angle to the incident.
Lastly, we scanned the Facebook profile of the user who attempted to give a communal spin to this case and found that the user has 785 followers and is influenced by a specific ideology.
Conclusion: Police have arrested Himani’s friend Sachin on charges of her murder. There is no communal angle to the case.
