  • A rumor that Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, had released a park-entry ticket that cost $10 million circulated online in late fall 2024. For instance, on Nov. 26, 2024, the TikTok account Mouse Trap News posted a clip claiming that "this is the most expensive ticket ever for a theme park. However, the benefits of it might be worth it if you have the money." @mousetrapnews Who is going to buy one of these $10,000,000 Disney Tickets?! #disneyworld #disneynews #disneyticket #disneyparkticket #disneyworldticket ♬ When You Wish Upon a Star - Mantovani Orchestra Some TikTok commenters seemed to interpret the rumor as a factual recounting of real-life events. One follower wrote, "I imagine they probably do got a real pass like that but it's not even on the website or advertised because it's not even worth having on there with a price tag like that," while another responded, "The 10 million only makes sense for the club 33 cus. I heard it's like a 15 year wait list to get in and it's a 35k sign up with 15k a year so maybe that's worth it." The claim was also shared on the Mouse Trap News Instagram account and website the same day it was shared to TikTok. According to the article published by Mouse Trap News: Disney World releases a $10,000,000 park ticket. This is the most expensive ticket ever for a theme park. However, the benefits of this ticket might be worth it if you have the money. This new $10,000,000 park ticket is called the Unlimited Disney Pass. It's essentially a lifetime pass where you and up to three other guests can go to any Disney World park on any day for your entire life. On top of that, it allows you to stay in any standard or pool-view hotel room on Disney World property for free, as long as there is availability. This essentially means you could live at a Disney resort and go to the parks for free every day. However, there is one more perk that has people most excited. This park ticket also gives guests access to all of the Club 33 locations at Disney World. This $10,000,000 Disney park ticket is considered one of the greatest investments for those who can afford it. If the average cost of one day at Disney World for a family of four is $1,200, this ticket pays for itself after 8,333 days at Disney World, which is only 22 years. Don't forget that this ticket lasts a lifetime, so if you buy it for a newborn, assuming they don't die young, they can easily get their money's worth. Mouse Trap News referred to Club 33, the exclusive members-only club offering luxurious dining and VIP experiences, with multiple locations at Disney theme parks around the world, including California's Disneyland in Anaheim, Tokyo Disneyland, Shanghai Disneyland Park, and Disney World in Florida. However, there was no evidence to support any of these claims. No such announcement of a Disney World $10 million entry ticket was reported by any reputable news outlet or The Walt Disney Company's website. Additionally, the official Walt Disney World website admission page noted that the most expensive ticket presently available is the Annual Pass, also known as the Disney Incredi-Pass, which retails for $1,549 before tax. The rumor originated with Mouse Trap News, a website that describes its output as being humorous or satirical in nature. Its "About" page states: Mouse Trap News is the world's best satire and parody site. We write fake stories about Disney Parks stuff. From Disney Park announcements to Disney Hotel and resort news to made-up Disney partnerships, you can be assured that anything you read here is not true, real, or accurate, but it is fun. So technically our slogan The Moused Trusted Name in Disney News isn't true, but we thought it was creative and funny, so we are running with it. Moreover, the Mouse Trap News TikTok account describes itself as "‼️Real Disney News That is 100% FAKE‼️" Snopes has addressed similar satirical claims from Mouse Trap News in the past, including the assertion that Elon Musk was buying Disney World and that Disney World was banning all children (though pets would still be allowed). For background, here is why we alert readers to rumors created by sources that call their output humorous or satirical.
