Claim :Modi urges his supporters to vote for CONGRESS Fact :The viral video has been edited by combining two different clips, and in the original clip, Modi actually urges his supporters to vote for BJP. In social media we discovered a video that allegedly shows Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging people to vote for Congress for their children's welfare is misleading. The video has been edited by slicing together two separate clips. Video from June 2023, where Narendra Modi had genuinely urged people to vote for BJP The upcoming assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Rajasthan, and Telangana will take place from November 7, 2023, with the vote count scheduled for December 3. The BJP and Congress are the primary competitors in most of these states. A video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaking to a crowd from a podium, with the Congress party's logo in the background, has become extremely popular on social media. According to the video, PM Modi can be heard saying, "If you want your family's children to succeed, then vote for Congress." In Hindi - मोदी जी का जनता से अपील nisar ahmeda posted in his facebook account. A similar video with the deceptive claim has been shared on Instagram before FACT CHECK The shared video of Prime Minister Modi's speech at a BJP workers' event in Madhya Pradesh has been edited to falsely suggest that he urged individuals to vote for Congress. In social media we discovered that the viral video was manipulated by combining two different parts of Modi's speech. The video clearly shows a noticeable jump cut, indicating that it was edited. In the authentic video from June 2023, Narendra Modi had genuinely urged people to vote for BJP. After analysing the viral video and picking up on a clue, we conducted a keyword search using the phrase "agar aapko apne parivar ke baccho ka bhala karna hai modi" and confirmed that the original video was indeed from June 2023 and had been tampered with. In this video, which was recorded during a public meeting of Modi at the "Mera Booth Sabse Majboot" program in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh on June 27, 2023, we can observe that the same speech as in the viral video is being delivered. However, it is important to note that there have been certain modifications made to the original content. Initially, Modi requests the audience to vote for the BJP, and subsequently, he mentions that if individuals desire the welfare of the Gandhi family, they should cast their vote in favour of the Congress party. It is worth mentioning that the segment where he urges people to "vote for BJP" has been deliberately omitted, while the subsequent part where he states "vote for Congress if you want the welfare of the Gandhi family" has been selectively edited and followed by the insertion of the phrase "vote for Congress" to create a false assertion. These alterations can be observed in the unedited version of the video provided below. In this video, everyone can see clearly that the podium partially shows the BJP's logo and not Congress' party symbol. During his address to the people of Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, Modi emphasized the importance of voting for parties that prioritize the betterment of children and families. He highlighted that no one wants their children to live in poverty and urged the audience to carefully consider which party's improvement they want to see. Modi provided examples of political families, including the Gandhi’s, Mulayam Singhji's son, the Lalu family, the Pawars, Abdullahs, K Chandrasekhar Rao's Bharat Rashtra Samithi, and DMK. He encouraged the people to vote for the party that aligns with their vision for a better future for their loved ones. During our research, we stumbled upon a live stream recording of the entire outreach programme held in Bhopal for BJP workers to interact with PM Modi and ask questions regarding the upcoming Assembly elections in the state. However, the specific segment that was shared in the claim commences at the 02:46:26 timestamp. therefore, the claim that honourable Narendra Modi Urged individuals to vote for congress.
