You have probably come across reports of celebrities like Virat Kohli and B Prak visiting self-styled holy man Premanand ji Maharaj. But now, some people are claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi too watched him deliver a sermon along with Home Minister Amit Shah.
Many shared a video showing Modi, Shah, and other officials watching the sermon on a television screen in a conference room. On the screen, Mohan Bhagwant, the Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh could also be seen. Bhagwat recently visited Premanand.

A Facebook user shared the video and wrote, “Premanand Ji Maharaj gave an invaluable speech in front of Sangh Chief Shri Hon Mohan Bhagwat Ji, which was watched live by the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi and his team and started clapping.” The archived version of this post can be seen here.
India Today found that the viral video is doctored. The actual video was of a high-level meeting in the aftermath of the Balasore train accident.
Our Probe
Using a keyword search, we found the actual video, which was altered to create the video in question. It was uploaded to PM Modi’s YouTube channel on June 3, 2023. Per the details mentioned there, the video showed a high-level meeting that was called to review the situation after three trains collided in Balasore, Odisha, on June 2, 2023.
In the original video, a woman could be seen explaining details related to the deadly accident with the help of a graphic on the television screen. After looking at the actual video, it becomes clear that the viral video was digitally altered.
It’s noteworthy that the Press Information Bureau also issued a clarification, calling the viral clip fake.
Thus, it’s clear that the viral post is false.
