New Delhi (Vishvas News). A picture of Rahul Gandhi is being shared on social media and linked to Kanhaiyalal’s murder. In the picture, Rahul Gandhi is seen standing with a man. It is being claimed that Rahul Gandhi is standing holding the hand of tailor Kanhaiyalal’s killer.
The viral claim turned out to be false in the investigation of Vishvas News. The viral picture is edited and shared with the wrong context. In the original picture, Hardik Patel is standing with Rahul Gandhi.
Claim :
Sharing the viral picture, Facebook user (Archived Version) Lallulal Yadav wrote, “The real thing is this, did you understand something.”
Investigation :
We searched the photo through Google reverse image. We found the original picture in Times of India’s report. In the original picture, Hardik Patel is standing with Rahul Gandhi. It was published on 13 March 2019. According to this report this picture is of a public meeting in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. We found this original picture published on many other news websites as well.
Based on the information received, we started searching on Google through several keywords. We found a video report related on ABP News official YouTube channel. It was uploaded on 13 March 2019. According to the video, Hardik Patel had joined the Congress in a public meeting in Gandhinagar. Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi were also present in this public meeting. The original picture is taken during this public meeting only.

For more details, we got in touch with Congress Gujarat spokesperson Dipam Bhatt. He told us that, “The viral claim is false. This picture is being edited. Opposition parties want to tarnish the image of Rahul Gandhi.”
We contacted Gujarat Dainik Jagran journalist Shatrughan Kumar to confirm this news. He also confirmed that this picture was edited. He told us, “The viral claim is false, people are sharing this edited picture in the wrong context. Hardik Patel is in the original picture.”
Vishvas News, in the last phase of the investigation, conducted a background check on the profile that shared the viral post. We found that user Lallulal Yadav is influenced by an ideology and has not shared much information on his profile.
Conclusion: In the investigation of Vishvas News, the claim made about the viral picture of Rahul Gandhi turned out to be false. The viral picture has been edited and shared. In the original picture, Hardik Patel is standing with Rahul Gandhi. Which is now being edited and shared in the wrong context.
