These posts also claim that the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu, launched this whisky in the name of Power Star Pawan Kalyan, who is the Deputy Chief Minister, to please the masses.

The claim is False. The liquor brand 999 Power Star Superior Whisky is not a new brand in Andhra Pradesh. It has been in the market in Andhra Pradesh and also other states of India for many years.
When we searched for the trademark registration of ‘999 Powertar Superior whisky’, we found that the product has been trademarked under a company named ‘Great Galleon Limited’, on the websites named Quickcompany. in and Trademarking. in.
Upon further search, we found a YouTube video published by TV5 Telugu on May 13, 2020. This video talks about the new alcohol brands introduced in Andhra Pradesh after the YSRCP government was formed in 2019. The anchor in the video mentions the brand name ‘999 Power Star Superior’ among other brands.
An article published on Webdunia states that the alliance supporters are sharing government notifications that the YCP government had introduced Power Star liquor in 2022. The liquor brand was introduced in Andhra Pradesh during the tenure of YSRCP.
We also found an article published in Daily Post Punjabi, which shares the image of 999 Powerstar whisky, stating that the excise department has recovered 15 bottles of 999 brand liquor from a man in Punjab.
