  • Was Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit to the Ukrainian village of Robotyne on February 4, 2024, fake? No, that's not true: The Ukrainian president did visit the village during his trip to the Zaporizhzhya region on that date. The president's office released photos and videos of the Ukrainian leader there, meeting with soldiers, and media outlets reported on it. The claim appeared in a TikTok video (archived here), which was published by @belvestnik.bel11 (archived here) on February 6, 2024. The text on the video, translated from Russian into English by Lead Stories staff, reads: Zelenskyy's trip to Robotyne turned out to be fake. Yesterday the Ukrainian president allegedly visited the contact line, where he gave out awards to the fighters in some hideout. A video taken by a dashboard camera appeared to show Zelenskyy's motorcade passing by, and it was shot far away from the place, the Ukrainian media insisted on. This is what the post looked like on TikTok at the time of writing: (Source: TikTok screenshot taken on Mon Feb 12 09:20:34 2024 UTC) The official website of the Ukrainian president released photos and videos (archived here) of the president's meeting with the defenders in the village of Robotyne on February 4, 2024, during Zelenskyy's trip to the Zaporizhzhya region. The video posted on Zelenskyy's Telegram shows him handing out state awards (archived here) to the frontline soldiers and receiving a chevron from one of them. The Ukrainian leader was accompanied (archived here) by the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andrii Yermak. In a video he posted on his Instagram profile on February 4, 2024, he wrote (as translated): Together with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, we visited Robotyno in the Zaporizhzhya region, home of the 65th separate mechanized brigade. We talked with our defenders and thanked them for their work. The president presented them with state awards. It is a great honor to be here with our heroes. Ukrainian media also reported (archived here) about Zelenskyy's visit to Robotyne, adding that explosions were heard near the village when the Ukrainian president was there.
