| - Fact Check: Old negative review of 'Roohi' falsely shared as SRK fan hitting out at 'Pathaan'
After Pathaan's release, a video of a man allegedly bashing the film has gone viral on social media. However, the video is unrelated to the movie.

This video is not recent but from March 11, 2021. The man in this video is Sonup Sahadevan, an entertainment journalist. The video is a review of “Roohi”, not “Pathaan”.
Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham’s “Pathaan” dominated both the box office and social media upon its release on January 25. While some groups have called for a boycott of the film, videos and photos of Khan’s fans enjoying the movie have flooded social media.
Among these are vox pop videos of people reacting to the film outside theatres. And these videos have featured both positive and negative reactions. A video that was widely shared featured a man allegedly bashing “Pathaan”.
This video featured a man talking about how much both halves of the film were bad and how terrible the actors’ performances were. The video also had the poster of “Pathaan” digitally added to it. Those sharing the video claimed that this was a diehard Shah Rukh Khan fan’s reaction to “Pathaan”.
Others posted the same video calling the film a “Supper Flop” alongside hashtags like “Boycott Pathaan” and “Pathaan Review”. The archived version of such a post can be seen here.
AFWA's investigation found that the video is nearly two years old and unrelated to “Pathaan”.

A reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video led us to a YouTube channel named Bollywoodwallah. There, we saw numerous videos of the same man talking about movie reviews and cricket matches, among other topics.
Per the description of this channel, it's managed by entertainment journalist Sonup Sahadevan. While looking for his take on “Pathaan” on the channel, we saw a review video uploaded on January 25. Here, Sahadevan showered praise on the lead trio. Although he pointed out that the storyline was a bit weak, it was a positive review overall, unlike the viral video.
This made it clear that the negative review in the viral video was for some other movie. We subsequently checked further and found the viral video uploaded to the channel on March 11, 2021. This video did not feature the “Pathaan” poster. The video was titled, "Roohi review by Sonup - Hit or Flop?"
“Roohi” is a Bollywood movie that features Rajkumar Rao and Jahnvi Kapoor. It was released on March 11, 2021.
Therefore, it is safe to conclude that the viral is old and not about “Pathaan” at all.
