  • Fact Check: Claim Of Cows Being Exported From Gujarat’s Adani Port is FAKE, Viral Video Not From India The claim of cattle export from the Adani Port in Gujarat to Arab countries is fake and the viral video is not from India, rather it is from a port in Iraq and this misleading information is falsely attributed to India. - By: Abhishek Parashar - Published: May 3, 2024 at 04:43 PM - Updated: May 3, 2024 at 04:45 PM New Delhi Vishvas News – In a viral video circulating on social media amidst ongoing Lok Sabha elections, a queue of trucks loaded with animals can be seen at a port. It is being claimed that this footage is of Adani Port in Gujarat, where preparations are being made to export cattle to Arab countries. However, Vishvas News found this claim to be misleading and it has no connection with the alleged port or any other port in India. What’s Going Viral? While sharing the viral video (archive link) , social media user Adnan Hameed wrote, “Gujarat: Thousands of cows are standing in trucks at Adani’s port. To go to Arab countries… what kind of worship will they have there?” Many other users on different social media platforms have also shared this video with similar claims. Investigation: We initiated our investigation by reverse image searching the key frames of the viral video, we found this video present on the Facebook profile of a user named ‘Hamed ELhagary’, which has been shared with a caption written in Arabic. After translating the Arabic text shown in the video, we did not find any information that could verify the location in this video. During our investigation, we found this video posted on another user’s profile as well . However, none of the videos provided any information indicating their connection to Gujarat or India. Upon investigating the video carefully, we observed two people dressed similarly to the people of Gulf countries. To confirm the location of the video, we conducted the reverse image search again on several key frames. While investigating, we found a video of Qasr port in Iraq uploaded a year ago on a YouTube channel named ‘Al Mayadeen’The similarity between the ports, as seen in the viral clip can be seen in the collage below: We reached out to an Adani Group’s spokesperson regarding the viral video. “This video has no connection with any of our ports,” he confirmed. We also checked the website of apeda.gov.in under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry , where data on meat exports from India is available. According to the statistics provided, buffalo meat accounts for the majority of India’s meat exports and the Government of India does not export beef. In a social media search, we found a copy of the RTI reply tweeted by Aabhas Maldahiyar’s official handle and the user who shared the viral video clip is followed by more than 25 thousand people on Facebook. Amidst the ongoing Lok Sabha elections 2024, you can find the Fact Check reports investigating other misleading claims related to the elections in the election section of Vishvas News. Conclusion: The claim of cattle export from the Adani Port in Gujarat to Arab countries is fake and the viral video is not from India, rather it is from a port in Iraq and this misleading information is falsely attributed to India. - Claim Review : Cows are being sent to Arab countries from Gujarat Adani Port. - Claimed By : Facebook User - Fact Check : False Know the truth!
