New Delhi (Vishvas News) – Amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine, the dissemination of false information through various images and videos persists on social media. Currently, a picture of Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan has gone viral. In this image, Shahrukh is seen wearing a red, white, black, and green jacket. The viral claim asserts that he is wearing this jacket in support of Palestine.However, an investigation by Vishvas News has revealed that this claim is unfounded. This image has been circulating on the internet for the past nine years. According to reports, the jacket Shahrukh Khan is wearing in the picture represents the colours of the UAE flag and was worn during a commercial shoot for the UAE.
What’s the viral post?
A Facebook user named ‘Tasleem Al Bukhari’ (Archive) shared this viral picture on October 26. Along with the picture it was written – “Actor Shahrukh Khan’s full support to the people of Palestine.”
Investigation:
To investigate this post, we employed Google Lens to search for the image. We discovered the picture of Shahrukh Khan on a Facebook page named Dubaibliss.com, posted on August 9, 2014. The accompanying caption read, “#SRK During His Visit In #DUBAI Wearing The #UAE Flag Jacket At Jumeirah Plaza!”
This image was also found in a tweet from August 11, 2014, where a user by the name of @mdjaveedkhan2 shared it with the description, “SRK During His Visit In #DUBAI Wearing The UAE Flag Jacket At Jumeirah Plaza.”
It is worth noting that the flags of Palestine and the United Arab Emirates share very similar colours. The distinction between these two flags can be observed in the collage provided below.
While Vishvas News does not independently verify the location and origin of this photo, it is evident that this photo has been circulating on the internet since 2014. This post was shared by a Facebook user named Abid Khan Azmi, who boasts more than 4,500 followers and is a resident of Mumbai.
