  • Fact Check: Post Claiming Brother Married To His Biological Sister In Pakistan Is FAKE Vishvas News’ investigation has conclusively debunked the claim that the couple in the viral photo are siblings who married in Karachi, Pakistan. The picture is from a traditional Pakistani wedding held in Texas, USA, and the couple has no familial relationship. Moreover, ARY News has never reported any such story. This viral claim is entirely false and intended to mislead. - By: Umam Noor - Published: Jan 23, 2025 at 04:13 PM New Delhi (Vishvas News): A photograph of a married couple has been circulating widely on social media, claiming that a brother has married his biological sister in Karachi, Pakistan. The viral posts allege that Pakistan’s ARY News channel reported this news. However, Vishvas News’ investigation confirmed this claim is entirely false. The photograph is from a wedding that took place in Texas, USA. The couple, of Pakistani origin, has no familial relation, and the claim of them being siblings is baseless propaganda. Furthermore, ARY News has not reported any such story. What is in the viral post? A Facebook user ‘Deepak C Jariwala’ shared the viral image, with the caption, “In Karachi, Pakistan, a brother surprised everyone by marrying his own sister, saying everything is permissible in our community: ARY.” An archived version of this post can be found here. Investigation To verify the authenticity of this claim, we began by searching ARY News’ website and official social media platforms for any mention of the alleged incident. However, our search yielded no results—ARY News has not published or aired any such story. Next, we used Google Lens to conduct a reverse image search of the viral photo. This led us to an article on the ‘Bride of North Texas’ website, which mentioned details of a traditional Pakistani Muslim wedding held in Texas. The couple in the photo, identified as Laila and Ali, reportedly met through mutual friends. The article credits ‘Tara Arseven Photography’ for the wedding images. Searching for Tara Arseven Photography online, led to their Facebook page and Instagram account. The same pictures were posted on the Facebook page on March 27, 2021, along with three related Instagram posts. Additionally, Tara Arseven’s blog featured an article about the wedding, showcasing pictures of the couple and their families. To further verify, we reached out to Tara Arseven via email and shared the viral post. In response, we were informed, “These two are not brother and sister. This claim is completely fabricated.” We also contacted Nadeem Ashraf Bhatt, head of ARY News’ investigative cell. After reviewing the viral post, he stated, “ARY has not run any such baseless post or news. This is entirely fake.” Lastly, a review of the Facebook profile of ‘Deepak C Jariwala,’ the individual who shared the fake post, revealed that the account frequently shares posts aligned with a specific ideological bias. Conclusion: Vishvas News’ investigation has conclusively debunked the claim that the couple in the viral photo are siblings who married in Karachi, Pakistan. The picture is from a traditional Pakistani wedding held in Texas, USA, and the couple has no familial relationship. Moreover, ARY News has never reported any such story. This viral claim is entirely false and intended to mislead. - Claim Review : In Karachi, a brother has married his own sister. - Claimed By : Facebook user 'Deepak C Jariwala' - Fact Check : False Know the truth!
