  • FACT CHECK: Did King Charles III Unveil A Poster Labeling Benjamin Netanyahu A ‘Terrorist?’ A video shared on Facebook purports to show King Charles III unveiling a poster that labels Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a “terrorist.” Verdict: False The video is digitally altered. The original video, published by Sky News in May 2024, shows King Charles III unveiling his first official painted portrait since his coronation. Fact Check: King Charles III, who revealed his cancer diagnosis in February 2024, had a previous cancer scare, according to People.com. The revelation was made via an updated edition of Robert Hardman’s biography about the monarch, the outlet reported. The Facebook video purports to show King Charles III unveiling a poster that labels Netanyahu a “terrorist.” “Europe declared Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu an international terrorist. A big poster of this was unveiled yesterday,” the post’s caption reads. In the video, King Charles III can be seen removing a drape to reveal what appears to be a poster featuring Netanyahu’s likeness. “Terrorist,” the poster reads, followed by Netanyahu’s name. “This terrorist is dangerous for humanity. Arrest him immediately,” it continues. The claim is false. A scan using the website “TrueMedia.org” reveals the video shows “some evidence of manipulation.” Likewise, Check Your Fact conducted a reverse image search, which led us to a May 2024 video from Sky News. The video shows King Charles III unveiling his first official painted portrait since his coronation. In addition, the claim is neither referenced on the Royal Family’s website nor its verified social media accounts. Netanyahu also does not appear to have publicly commented on the claim. Furthermore, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to support the claim. Actually, the opposite is true. Full Fact, The Quint, and Factly have all debunked the claim.
