  • Fact Check: Viral images of RSS letters on religious conversion are fake Two images of a letter are being shared virally on social media with the narrative that it is a letter issued by RSS encouraging Hindu men to convert Muslim women to Hinduism. Two images of a letter are being shared virally on social media with the narrative that it is a letter issued by RSS encouraging Hindu men to convert Muslim women to Hinduism. Typed on RSS letterhead, it has a 12-point plan on how to trap Muslim women and make them follow Hinduism. The letter mentions that Hindu boys need to bring 10 lakh Muslim girls back to Hinduism every year and also urges them to take a 15-day training programme to get more details. Several social media users shared this letter with hashtags #bhagwalovetrap #islamophobia etc. The users can be seen cautioning Muslim women. The overall gist of the viral letter, which is in Hindi, is: - When you meet a Muslim girl, pose as a good guy with great character - Always shake hands with Muslim girls - Try not to insult their dharma, praise Islam in front of them - Whenever you meet her, praise her hijab There are many more pointers like this in the letter. Fact Check: The claim is false. The viral images of the letter were morphed and not originally released by RSS. When observed carefully, we found several spelling mistakes in the Hindi language used in the letter. A few discrepancies were also found between the viral letterhead and also the official letterhead. The colour in the logo on the official letterhead is different from the colour of the logo on the viral letterhead. The original letterhead has the Om symbol inside a saffron-coloured circle on the top left with the tagline – ‘Sanghe Shakti: Kalayuge’. This tagline is missing in the viral letterhead and the Om symbol is in orange colour on white background. All India Prachar Pramukh, RSS, Sunil Ambekar tweeted that the viral letter was fake . His tweet states “यह राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ के Twitter Handle VSK Bharat also tweeted that it is another unsuccessful attempt by anarchist elements to defame RSS. A false letter in the name of Sarsanghchalak ji is being made viral on the letterhead of the Sangh through various platforms on social media. VSK Bharat publishes the latest news about RSS. Therefore, the images being shared as RSS letters are morphed images and not the original letters released by the RSS. No such statements or letters can be seen published anywhere. The claim is false.
