Had Buffett said such flattering things about Trump, it would have been national and international news. Lead Stories searched Google and Google News (archived here) using keywords "President Trump making best financial decisions in 50 years Warren Buffett," and did not find any matching news stories. Buffett is Berkshire Hathaway's CEO. As of this writing, he is 94 years old. The quotes are not on the Berkshire Hathaway website (archived here) and the "Message from Warren E. Buffett" link (archived here) does not mention Trump. Buffet has an account on X, (archived here), but it does not contain many entries. The most recent one is from 2016. Buffett did blast Trump's tariffs on CBS News, as Yahoo! Finance reported on March 10, 2025: In his recent interview, Buffett briefly touched on tariffs and called them "an act of war to some degree," saying that the U.S. has had a lot of experience with tariffs and that over time they become a tax on goods. "I mean the tooth fairy doesn't pay them," he said.
