  • FACT CHECK: Did Trump Claim His Family Will Leave The Country If He Loses The Election? A post shared on social media purports former President Donald Trump claimed that he will be leaving the country if he loses the election. Trump is planning to move his family to Venezuela if he loses the election. pic.twitter.com/7kv0mcoKL6 — PoliticsVideoChannel (@politvidchannel) October 29, 2024 Verdict: Misleading Trump suggested he and Musk met in Venezuela if “something happens with this election” during an interview on X. Fact Check: Trump attended a rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin wearing a garbage worker vest in response to President Joe Biden’s comments about Trump supporters, Fox News reported. Trump also drove a garbage truck. A post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, purports Trump will take his family out of the country if Vice President Kamala Harris wins the 2024 election. The post shared a clip of Trump speaking with Elon Musk on X. The caption reads, “Trump is planning to move his family to Venezuela if he loses the election.” The claim is inaccurate. The video is from a X space interview Trump did with Elon Musk, according to the New York Times. In the interview Trump commented on Venezuela’s declining crime rates. He suggested that him and Musk should go there referencing the crime problems in the United States. Trump told Musk “If something happens with this election, which would be a horror show, we’ll meet the next time in Venezuela, because it’ll be a far safer place to meet than our country.” He went on to say, “Their crime rate is coming down and our crime rate is going through the roof.” Venezuela’s violent death rates have fallen to a 22-year low, Bloomberg reported.
