Amid this, a video is going viral on social media, showing captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and other players dancing. Some users are sharing this video calling it recent, claiming that the players danced after defeating Pakistan in the Champions Trophy. However, Vishvas News investigation revealed that the viral video is from the T20 World Cup 2024, where Team India celebrated their victory at Wankhede Stadium. The same video is now being falsely shared as Champions Trophy 2025 celebrations. What is going viral? Facebook user ‘Pratosh K Karn‘ shared the viral video on February 23, 2025, with the caption, “Historic victory! The Indian cricket team has given a crushing defeat to Pakistan in the group league match of Champions Trophy-2025 by performing brilliantly. All the players danced together on this glorious performance of Team India and this victory is not just a match, but a proof of the superiority of Indian cricket! And Virat is Virat, Jai Hind! Investigation To verify the authenticity of the viral post, we extracted several key frames from the video and searched them using Google Lens. Our investigation led us to a video on BCCI’s official X handle, uploaded on July 5, 2024. According to the information given, the video is from the T20 World Cup at Wankhede Stadium. During our investigation, we found a news report related to the viral video on the ANI website, published on July 5, 2024. According to the news, after winning the T20 World Cup, by defeating South Africa, team India celebrated the victory at the Wankhede Stadium with this energetic dance. Additional news reports related to the viral video, confirming it is from the 2024 T20 World Cup, can be read here. For further verification, we contacted Dainik Jagran’s sports editor, Abhishek Tripathi, who confirmed that the viral video is from the T20 World Cup. Finally, we scanned the Facebook account of the user who shared the video. and found that the user identifies as a resident of Darbhanga and has 4000 followers.Conclusion: Vishvas News investigated and found that the viral video of Team India’s dance is not recent but dates back to the 2024 T20 World Cup.
