| - Fact Check: Virat Kohli’s ‘First Family Photo’ Is AI-Generated
A picture of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma with two children is going viral on social media, being shared as authentic. However, Vishvas News’ investigation revealed that the image was AI-generated, with experts also confirming that it was created using AI.

New Delhi (Vishvas News). A picture of cricketer Virat Kohli and actress Anushka Sharma with two children is spreading quickly on social media, with many users believing it to be real. However, Vishvas News’ investigation revealed that the image is AI-generated.
What is going viral?
Facebook user ‘VIRAT KOHLI GOD OF CRICKET’ shared the viral picture on February 17, 2025, with the caption, “Virat Kohli with family for the first time.”

Investigation
To verify the viral picture, we closely examined it carefully and found several inconsistencies. For example, Virat Kohli’s children, Vamika (4) and Akay (1) years old look older in the picture. Also, Anushka Sharma’s right-hand does not have fingers, and Virat Kohli’s right hand is positioned behind him, yet the fingers are visible near the laptop. Also, the fingers of his left hand seem to be passing through the laptop, and the children appear to be emerging from the middle of the table. These anomalies raised the suspicions that this picture was created using Artificial Intelligence (AI).
AI image detection tool Hive Moderation determined a 99% probability of this picture being AI-created.
Similarly, AI image detection tool Site Engine also indicated a 99% probability of the image being AI-created.
When we cropped the top portion of the image to show only the faces and ran it through AI image detection tools, it still indicated a 97% probability that the image was AI-generated.
We contacted AI expert Azahar Machwe for his insights. He stated, “This is fake – there are many noticeable and significant flaws, like fingers merging into the laptop and legs blending into the table.”
Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s daughter Vamika was born on January 11, 2021, and their son Akay was born on February 15, 2024. However, the couple has not officially released any pictures of their children.
Finally, we scanned the Facebook account of the user ‘VIRAT KOHLI GOD OF CRICKET’ who shared the picture with the false claim and found that the user has over 43000 followers.
Conclusion: A picture of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma with two children is going viral on social media, being shared as authentic. However, Vishvas News’ investigation revealed that the image was AI-generated, with experts also confirming that it was created using AI.
