Till the time of filing this story, DCP Sharma was out of danger.
At least 10 people were killed and over 150 injured in the violence in Delhi till reports last came in. Head constable Ratan Lal was among those killed, while 56 policemen, including Shahdara deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Amit Sharma, were injured.
On social media, there are claims that DCP Sharma has succumbed to injuries. Facebook user Subhash Kumar Saw wrote a post in Hindi which translates to, Very sad news from Delhi. After constable Ratan Lal Yadav became a victim of jihadi stone pelters, DCP Amit Sharma too lost his life due to bullet injuries.
News agency ANI tweeted on Tuesday morning that DCP Sharma was safe and out of danger. Many prominent media houses.

BJP MP Gautam Gambhir also visited DCP Sharma at Max hospital on Tuesday. After meeting him, the cricketer-turned-politician told the media that DCP Sharma was in ICU.
Therefore, it is clear that till the time of filing this story, DCP Sharma was in hospital. According to media reports, he is out of danger. On Tuesday evening, Delhi Police PRO MS Randhawa told media persons that 56 policemen were injured in the violence in Delhi that erupted on Sunday.
