Vishvas News (New Delhi): A fake tweet in the name of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is going viral on social media. It is being claimed that Manmohan Singh while taking a jibe at the Prime Minister of the country, has tweeted that the man who could not run BSNL, Railway Station and Airport, how he will run the country.
When Vishvas News investigated the viral post, it was found that a fake tweet is made with the name of Manmohan Singh from a fake account. Manmohan Singh is not on social media. Even before this, fake tweets of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh have gone viral and have been debunked by Vishvas News.
Claim
Facebook user Mansi Soni posted a fake tweet with the name of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on August 17. It is being claimed that Manmohan Singh while taking a jibe at the Prime Minister of the country, has tweeted that the man who could not run BSNL, Railway Station and Airport, how he will run the country.

Investigation
To know the truth of the viral post, we first started searching the Twitter handle named @Dr_manmohan_1. We found a Twitter handle (https://twitter.com/Dr_manmohan_1) by this name. More than 42000 people follow the account created in June 2021. This is a parody account and the link can be viewed here.
Vishvas News contacted Pranav Jha, Congress National Secretary (Media) regarding the viral post. He said that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is not on social media.
Vishvas News scanned the profile of Facebook user Mansi Soni. We found that the user is based out of Ahmedabad. This account was created in September 2017.
Conclusion: When Vishvas News investigated the viral post, it was found that a fake tweet is made with the name of Manmohan Singh from a fake account. Manmohan Singh is not on social media.
