Can Pepper cure COVID-19?
Pepper has been claimed to be a cure for COVID-19 multiple times during the pandemic. It has time and again been refuted by Fact Checkers.
We did a Fact Check of a similar claim a few days ago where black pepper, ginger and honey was wrongly touted as a cure for COVID-19.
Many natural ingredients and their concoction have been tested for their efficacy against COVID-19 but o conclusive results have yet emerged. The Indian ministry of AYUSH has recommended multiple natural ingredients and concoction containing black pepper for improving immunity to fight against Coronavirus but no claim has been made as a cure of the disease.
Is Black Pepper healthy otherwise?
Black pepper is proven to have anti-microbial properties. As per a research published in 2015, black pepper extracts reportedly inhibit food spoilage and food pathogenic bacteria.
There are multiple other researches on black pepper that establishes its efficacy as an antioxidant and as a spice that can help us maintain healthy Lipid profile in body.
