Listen to Story India Today Fact Check This image is edited. The original image shows a man named Ramanna Jamadar who got Uddhav and Aditya Thackeray’s faces tattooed on his back. Some people take their adoration of politicians a little too far. One photo going viral right now, ahead of Assembly elections in Maharastra, purports to show just that. The photo shows prominent Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leaders Uddhav Thackeray, Aditya Thackeray, and Sanjay Raut tattooed on his back and buttocks! The archives of two such posts can be seen here and here. India Today Fact Check found that the viral image was photoshopped. The original photo shows a man who only tattooed the likeness of Uddhav and Aditya Thackeray on his back. Sanjay Raut’s tattoo was added digitally. Our Probe A quick reverse search of the viral image led us to a September 13, 2022 news report by Marathi news outlet Loksatta. This report has multiple other photos of the tattooed man, Ramanna Jamadar, a construction worker from ââSolapur. In these photos, only the tattoos of Uddhav and Aditya Thackeray were on his back. According to the report, Jamadar had tattooed the faces of Uddhav and Aditya Thackeray to express his loyalty towards the Shiv Sena and the Thackeray family. A TV9 Marathi journalist spoke to Jamadar about his tattoo in August 2022. During this interview, he again revealed the two tattoos on his back.
