The Senate pushed back Christmas recess in order to continue negotiations for Biden’s $110 billion aid package for Ukraine. The Facebook post purports a large group of Mexican immigrants are near the U.S. border. The photo shows a massive number of migrants as they attempt to enter the country on foot and in vehicles. The text overlay reads, “WE MUST USE OUR GREAT MILITARY ON THE SOUTHERN BORDER TO STOP THE INVASION OF ILLEGAL ALIEN IMMIGRANTS. DO YOU AGREE?” The claim is inaccurate. The photo was shared by Politico in 2018. Politico reported that then-President Donald Trump was preparing to send the military to the border to defend against the migrant caravan. Trump sent a message to the migrants saying in part, “you will not be admitted into the United States unless you go through the legal process. This is an invasion of our Country and our Military is waiting for you!” according to the outlet. There has been a large number of illegal immigrants in recent days. Fox News reported that sources at the Customs and Border Protection that on Monday Dec. 18 there were 12,600 migrant encounters, which is a record number for a single day.
