He was treated and evaluated by a team of specialist doctors. Rumors that he suffered cardiac arrest spread but the doctors confirmed that the actor did not suffer cardiac arrest.
Later he attended the audio launch function of his movie Cobra on July 11 and thanked his audience for their love and support. But meanwhile, a video is going viral claiming that it shows Vikram after he was discharged from the hospital.
Several social media platforms including youtube shared the claim that the viral video was shared by Vikram after he was discharged from the hospital in 2022. Many on Twitter shared that video with the caption "#chiyaan Vikram is discharged today"
This claim was also shared by some Telugu media outlets, including popular TV channel TV9.

Fact check:
The claim that the viral video shows 'Chiyaan' Vikram after he was discharged from hospital and is recent is FALSE.
When we observed the comments on several tweets that posted this video, we found at least one comment stating that this video is an old one and is NOT recent.
Few users replied that it is a video of Vikram thanking his fans for overwhelming birthday wishes.
Taking this as a cue, when we searched with the keywords 'Chiyaan Vikram thanks his fans', we found the same video published by Vikram fans Twitter handle on their account in April 2017. In this video, we can hear him saying 'This is my best birthday yet' in the middle of the video, which seems to be missing in the viral video.
The video was shared by IndiaGlitz Tamil too in April 2017, with the title 'Vikram overwhelmed: thanks fans for love and support | Birthday celebration, Sketch Movie'. The description of the video states 'Chiyaan Vikram's Dhruva Natchathiram second teaser was released on the eve of Vikram's birthday (17th April). The actor, who was overwhelmed by the response from his fans took to Instagram to thank his fans for their love. Further shared a video thanking his fans for their love and support.'
We also found the video posted on his official Instagram account of Vikram named 'the_real_chiyaan'. This video was posted on April 17, 2017.
Therefore, the claim that the viral video was posted by actor Vikram after he was discharged from the hospital in July 2022 is FALSE. The video is NOT recent and is from 2017 when he released the video to thank his fans for their birthday wishes
