  • FACT CHECK: Did Time Magazine Name Joe Biden and Kamala Harris ‘The Most Unpopular Duo’?’ An image shared on Twitter allegedly shows a cover from Time Magazine naming President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris “The most unpopular duo in U.S. history.” The Most Unpopular Duo In U.S. Political History! 👎🏻🤬🤨🤬🤨👎🏻 pic.twitter.com/Gqrsu3Jmhz — 💥NYETENGALE💥 (@nyetengale) November 10, 2022 Verdict: False The cover is digitally edited. A spokesperson for Time Magazine has confirmed to Check Your Fact the image is fabricated. Fact Check: Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping met for the first time in-person for three hours in Bali during the G20 summit, according to CNN. Harris is reportedly planning to visit the Philippine islands of Palawan in the South China Sea, Reuters reported. The Twitter post allegedly shows a cover from Time Magazine describing Biden, Harris and the Democratic party in a negative light. The cover features portraits of Biden and Harris while the sub-headlines suggest the administration is in “shambles.” “The most unpopular duo in U.S. history,” the headline reads. (RELATED: Did Time Magazine Publish This Image Of The British Home Secretary Wearing A Swastika?) The cover is digitally altered. The image claims the cover is from October 2022, but it cannot be found in the Time’s archive of covers. The magazine’s social media does not feature the cover either. “This image is not an authentic TIME cover,” a Time spokesperson confirmed in an email to Check Your Fact. The legitimate cover from Time Magazine shows the same portraits of Biden and Harris, naming them Time’s 2020 Person of the Year. It does not feature any of the sub-headlines from the fabricated image. The image also appears in the 2020 archives of the magazine. This is not the first time an image has spread misinformation online. Check Your Fact recently debunked a claim a British Parliament member said if “you treat migrants like rapists then they are going to behave like rapists.”
