  • FACT CHECK: Facebook Image Purporting To Show Kamala Harris With P. Diddy Is Altered An image shared on Facebook claims to show 2024 Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris with rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs. Verdict: False The image, which has been digitally altered, shows Harris with former talk show host and actor Montel Williams, not Combs. Fact Check: A new UMass Lowell/YouGov poll places Harris ahead of former President Donald Trump in Michigan at 48% to 43%, according to The Hill. The same poll shows a close race in Pennsylvania with Harris at 48% and Trump at 46%, the outlet reported. The Facebook image claims to show Harris with Combs. The image shows Harris and another woman posing with Combs for a photo at a public event. Diddy stands in between the two women. “Kamala Harris [is] one of puff daddy’s [sic] b–ches!!,” the post’s caption reads. The claim is false, as the image is digitally altered. The original image, available via Getty Images, shows Harris posing for a photo with Williams and his daughter, Ashley Williams. “Talk Show Host Montel Williams, daughter Ashley Williams and Kamala Harris attending Eighth Annual Race to Erase Multiple Sclerosis on May 18, 2001 at the Century Plaza Hotel in Century City, California,” the image’s caption reads. A video uploaded to Inside Edition’s verified YouTube channel shows Harris, Williams, and Ashley Williams posing for a photo at the same event. The trio is visible at the video’s 0:43 second mark. “In 2001, talk show host Montel Williams introduced her to the paparazzi at a red carpet event they attended together. Now the whole world knows who she is,” the video’s description reads in part. Likewise, Harris does not appear to have publicly commented on the image via her 2024 campaign website or her verified social media accounts. Combs also has not commented on the image. On Sept. 26, Reuters reported the image was digitally altered and showed Harris with Williams, not Combs. Check Your Fact has contacted a Harris spokesperson for comment.
