According to an article published by The People’s Voice website says that the “WEF Declares Pedophilia ‘Sexual Orientation’ Must Be Added To LGBTQAI+.” It continues to claim, “The LGBTQAI+ rainbow community must add a P according to the World Economic Forum in Davos which has declared that pedophilia is an acceptable sexual orientation that deserves respect.”

What is the meaning of LGBTQAI+?
The term LGBTQAI+ is an inclusive acronym that represents a diverse range of sexual orientations and gender identities. It includes individuals who identify as Lesbian (women attracted to women), Gay (men attracted to men), Bisexual (attracted to both men and women), Transgender (having a gender identity different from the sex assigned at birth), Queer (used as an umbrella term for those not identifying as heterosexual or cisgender), asexual (A), Intersex (I) and the plus sign (+) denotes inclusion of other identities beyond those clearly mentioned. This could include asexual, pansexual, non-binary, and various other identities. Essentially, LGBTQAI+ is a way of acknowledging and respecting the rich varieties of human experiences and identities related to gender and sexuality.
What does pedophilia mean?
Pedophilia is a term used to describe a psychological disorder where an adult feels a sexual attraction for children. This attraction is harmful and inappropriate because children are not capable of giving consent to sexual activity. It’s considered a serious offence and is illegal in many places because it can lead to harm and exploitation of children. While pedophilia itself, the attraction, is not illegal, acting on those attractions by engaging in sexual activity with children is illegal in all countries around the world. Laws are in place to protect children from exploitation and abuse, so any form of sexual contact or behaviour involving minors is prohibited and punishable by law.
What does the World Economic Forum do?
The World Economic Forum (WEF) is an organisation that brings together leaders from different sectors like government, business, and academia to discuss global issues and find solutions. It organises events, such as the annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, where these leaders meet to exchange ideas and collaborate on challenges like climate change, economic inequality, and technological advancements. The WEF also conducts research and publishes reports to raise awareness and guide decision-making on global issues. It aims to improve the state of the world by promoting dialogue, coordination and cooperation among key stakeholders.
Has the WEF actually declared that pedophilia should be included in the LGBTQAI+?
No, the WEF has not made any such declaration. There is no evidence to support the claim that the WEF has declared that pedophilia should be included in the LGBTQAI+ acronym. A fact check reveals that there is no mention of such an order on the WEF website, where formal announcements and updates from meetings, including the annual gathering in Davos, are posted. Additionally, a search on the website shows that the term ‘pedophilia’ has not been mentioned since 2017, and even in that instance, it was used for debunking another conspiracy theory. Representatives from GLAAD, an LGBTQ+ advocacy group, attended the Davos meeting and confirmed that no such declaration was made. Such claims have absolutely no basis and they go against the core values and goals of the WEF. Therefore, the claim lacks factual basis and should be regarded as false.
