  • Il 4 novembre 2020 è stata pubblicata su Facebook un’immagine in cui si legge che nello stato del Wisconsin (Stati Uniti) sarebbe emerso che il numero dei voti contati (3.170.206) sarebbe più alto di quello dei votanti registrati (3.129.000). Nell’immagine compare anche un testo in cui si legge che questo presunto fatto dimostrerebbe che i democratici abbiano commesso una frode durante lo spoglio dei risultati delle elezioni presidenziali statunitensi del 3 novembre scorso. Il testo è in inglese. L’immagine è accompagnata da questo commento in italiano, scritto da chi ha pubblicato il post su Facebook: «PIU’ VOTI CHE VOTANTI IN WISCONSIN! Condividere!». Questa notizia è falsa. Come ha ricostruito il sito di fact-checking statunitense Snopes, il Wisconsin non ha contato più voti di quanti ne abbia registrati. In basi infatti ai dati ufficiali della Commissione elettorale del Wisconsin, al 1° novembre 2020, i votanti registrati sono in realtà 3.684.726 (come si può leggere qui) e non 3.129.000 come si legge nell’immagine oggetto della nostra verifica. Questo numero infatti (3.129.000) si riferisce ai votanti registrati nel Wisconsin nel 2018, cioè due anni fa.
