  • FACT CHECK: Did John Durham Reveal A ‘Russian Plot’ To Help Hillary Clinton In 2024 Election? A video shared on Facebook purports special counsel John Durham has revealed a Russian-backed plot to help former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in 2024. Verdict: False There is no evidence that Durham has made any such claims regarding Russia or the 2024 elections. Fact Check: A Jury deliberation took place recently in the trial of Igor Danchenko, the Russian analyst known to be the source of the Steele Dossier, according to CNN. The jury acquitted Danchenko after nine hours of deliberations on four counts of felony false statement charges, Politico reported. The Facebook video, viewed over 21,000 times, claims Durham has revealed a Russian plot regarding 2024. “Durham Unveils Biden’S Disgusting “R.Ussian Plot” To Help Hilary 2024…Trump Proves Not Guilty,” the video’s caption reads. The caption is baseless. There are no credible news reports that suggest this claim is accurate. There has been no such announcement made by the Department of Justice nor has any announcement appeared on the Special Counsel office’s webpage. Clinton made any statement about the claim on her verified social media accounts. Likewise, former President Donald Trump has not made any press releases that mention these claims. (RELATED: Does This Video Show Ted Cruz Saying He Has Documents That Would Implicate Adam Schiff?) The video is also irrelevant to the caption. The clip in the video from an episode of “John Bachman Now” on Newsmax. Bachman did cover developments in the Durham investigation regarding the charges against Danchenko. At no point did Bachman report on the alleged ‘Russian plot’ to help Clinton in 2024. This is not the first time a video unrelated to a claim has been used in a post on social media. Check Your Fact recently debunked a claim that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi “removed” Biden from office.
