This image is doctored. The original image is from April 8 and was shot at Wankhede Stadium before the MI-CSK match.
A photo of Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni touching Mumbai Indian mentor Sachin Tendulkar’s feet has been widely shared on social media. This allegedly happened during the recent Indian Premier League (IPL) match between two teams in Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium on May 6.
People who shared the photo praised Dhoni’s upbringing and claimed that when Tendulkar came to the field during the match, Dhoni went ahead and touched his feet. One such tweet opined: “Let me tell you that both are billionaires. Such acts prove where humility and decency can take you no matter what. On the other hand, some such people get inflated with little position and money. There is only one life, it is up to us to decide how to live it."
Several YouTube videos that featured this photo in their thumbnails also claimed the same.

OUR PROBE
It's noteworthy that when Bollywood singer Arijit Singh touched Dhoni’s feet during the opening ceremony of the IPL 2023, it made headlines all over. It’s only natural that Dhoni touching Tendulkar’s feet would have resulted in the same media frenzy. We, however, could not find a single news report that said that.
Subsequently, we reverse-searched the image on Google and that led us to a Navbharat Times report from April 8, 2023, that featured a similar photo of the two cricketers.
In the photo, instead of bending over and touching his feet, Dhoni stood beside Tendulkar, who looked the same as he did in the viral photo. Reportedly, this photo was shot in Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium before the April 8 encounter between the Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings.
Subsequent searches led us to an April 8 tweet from the official IPL Twitter account that said: "Two Legends, One Frame." It contained the Navbharat Times photo.
Upon comparing the original image with the viral one, it became apparent that the photo of Dhoni bowing down was digitally added to the original image.
While we could not find where the photo of Dhoni bending down was taken from, it is safe to conclude that both, the photo and the claim alongside it, are misleading.
