Is it true?: No, the claim is false.
The video dates back to July 2024 and shows Mann speaking at an Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar
The coalition had gathered to bring attention to AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal's deteriorating health while he was jailed in connection to the Delhi liquor policy case.
How did we find out the truth?: We ran a reverse image search on the clip using Google Lens, which led us to an X (formerly Twitter) post by media organisation Capital TV, shared on 2 August 2024.
It carried a link to a YouTube video on their verified channel, which was titled 'Delhi Liquor Scam: Bhagwant Mann Cries On Stage For Arvind Kejriwal'.
The anchor mentioned that Mann got emotional over Kejriwal's health during his detention in Tihar jail, in connection to corruption in the Delhi liquor policy case.
The part showing Mann's statement in the viral clip starts at the 03:56 minute mark in this video.
Taking a cue from this, we used Google's Advanced Search feature to look for the video on Aam Aadmi Party's YouTube channel, filtering by date to find the original video easily.
It was shared on Aam Aadmi Party's verified channel with the title, 'CM Kejriwal का नाम लेकर भावुक हो गए CM Bhagwant Mann | India Alliance Jantar Mantar Protest' on 30 July 2024.
Throughout his speech, Mann heavily criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and praised Kejriwal changing how parties serve the people despite having serious health issues.
At the 9:26-minute mark, one can see Mann making the same statements heard in the claim.
"So where do we go? Should we go to the Supreme Court? Where should we go? Tell us! Which court should we go to? Which lawyer should we go? Tell us that much. What was our fault, tell us? We built schools, what did we do wrong? We built hospitals, made electricity free, was that wrong? There are limits to it. They cannot tell us what we did wrong. The CBI and ED gave up on the case.
