New Delhi (Vishvas News). A photo of poet Kumar Vishwas is going viral on social media. In the photo, showing him wearing a scarf typically associated with Muslims. Many users are sharing the photo, falsely claiming it to be a recent one.
Vishvas News investigated the claim and found it to be misleading. This viral photo of Kumar Vishwas dates back to 2014 when he contested the Lok Sabha elections as an Aam Aadmi Party candidate from Amethi. The old photo is being spread with a misleading claim.
What is in the viral post?
A Facebook user shared the viral post and wrote, “Mashallah, Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, what a beautiful style – of our Hindu heart emperor Kumar Vishwas Sahab.”

Investigation
Starting our investigation, we conducted a Google Lens search of the viral photo. Our investigation revealed that the photo had been uploaded across many social media handles in 2014.
We also found that this photo was uploaded on ANI’s x handle on May 7, 2014.
Based on this, we furthered our investigation and found a video related to the event uploaded on ABP News’ YouTube channel on May 7, 2014. The video features a byte of Kumar Vishwas’ interview and dates back to the time when Kumar Vishwas was the AAP candidate from Amethi during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
The news related to this matter can also be seen on Aaj Tak and News Express’ YouTube channels, uploaded on May 7, 2014.
To verify the authenticity of the viral post, we contacted Dilip Singh, Bureau Chief of Amethi in Dainik Jagran and shared the image with him. He confirmed that the photo dates back to the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
Finally, we scanned the profile of the page that shared the video and found that it has over 15000 members.
